My first week with BEST

Its been a week I joined BEST programme. I have gained lots of precious experience during all session.This week,we've learned public speaking skills, how to conduct a meeting and how to make a good resume to attract employer to hire us.

In public speaking class,we've learned to build our confident to speak in front of public. There are lots of skills that were thought by our trainers, Mr Hisham and Miss Nani. They made the class so interesting. Other than that, each group were given a task to make a presentation of item that given to us. For my group, BIOSELF , we were given a teddy bear that we named as "moshi moshi bam bam".Cute right?=).So we have decided to make a sale-act. Every member of our team had to choose an adjective from the letter T,E,D,D,Y B,E,A & R to represent a best quality of our "moshi" bear. I've got the letter "A" so i chose adorable to describe the bear. I was so nervous but i still managed to deliver my presentation. I hope in the future, i can make a good presentation and apply all the knowledge I've gained.

For the conducting meeting class, we've learned to make an effective and efficient meeting. A good meeting is a very effective way of using people's time. It enables fast and effective communication between a group that important for development of the organization. The preparation for the meeting should be done properly like the importance of notice for meeting call. The notice should include the venue, date and agenda of the meeting. It should be sent out in time to allow everyone to study it and prepare for the meeting . Other than that, the trainer also stressed on the role of the chairperson. This person's role is to control the meeting and to encourage participation. He/she runs the agenda to make sure that everything is addressed. Also, he or she will clarify points, summarise positions and seek consensus. This session is so useful in assist us to make a decision on how to conduct a meeting as it essential for us know the skills, laws and ethics in meeting.

On Friday, we've learned how to make a good resume. As the trainers thought us, the resume can capture the employer's attraction in only 45 seconds. In order to make a good resume, we have to give a good 1st impression. Put best photo on the resume and use a font with a suitable size and style. Make it simple but it has to provide all information that useful such as the contact details,personal particulars,educational background,working experience.skills and don't forget to put a reference person in order to the future employer get an information from person who know you well. A resume is used to highlight our accomplishments to the employer so that they can assess whether we're an appropriate person for the position in their organization.
